Oxygen Breathing Detox Therapy
Why Our Body Needs Oxygen?
Oxygen is all around us in the air that we breathe, and that is a good thing because we could not live without it. Oxygen is essential to every cell in our body. Without it, our cells can’t make energy, and their metabolism is less effective. Without sufficient oxygen, we perform less efficiently.
Every day we breathe 20,000 times.
Breathing is our body’s chief cleansing tool. Every day, our body burns off some seven hundred billion old cells. These old cells are toxic and must be removed from our system. This is a normal, natural process of the body and nothing to worry about unless for some reason this toxic waste material is not eliminated at the same rate it’s being produced. As long as we’re breathing properly and getting plenty of oxygen, there is sufficient energy and the waste is easily eliminated.
Less than 200 years ago the earth’s atmosphere comprised 40% oxygen; today we breathe only 21%.
The problem comes when we don’t take in enough oxygen. Our body can store up food and liquid, but it can’t store oxygen. Every minute that we are alive, we must continually provide our cells with a stream of fresh oxygen. When you aren’t getting enough oxygen, you’ll experience a host of symptoms, including:
- Rapid breathing
- Shortness of breath
- Fast heart rate
- Coughing or wheezing
- Changes in the color of your skin
Our vital lung capacity decreases 5% with every decade of life. Less lung elasticity means less oxygen.
What happens during an oxygen bar session?
Your vital signs will be taken and your health condition will be evaluated by the doctor before starting the session.
You’ll be presented with a selection of aromas, and medical staff will explain the benefits of each aroma. Once you make your selection, a cannula, which is a flexible tube that splits into two small prongs, fits loosely around your head and the prongs rest inside the nostrils to deliver the oxygen. Once turned on, you breathe normally and relax.
Oxygen is usually offered for 20 minutes up to a maximum of 30 minutes.
Oxygen treatments can be combined with other services, such as massage.
