What is TCM?
TCM has been used in China for over 4000 years and has become one of the most widely used and respected forms of medicine in the world. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an ancient and still very vital holistic system of health and healing, based on the concept of harmony and balance and focuses on stimulating the body’s natural curative powers. TCM uses a wide-ranging medical system that includes Herbology, Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping and Tui Na therapy.
At KindCare, our traditional Chinese Medicine clinic aim to prevent disease, promote and maintain good health, enhance the immune system and increase the patient’s capacity for work, enhanced creativity and pleasure
How does it work?
Within Chinese Cosmology, all of creation is born from the marriage of two polar principles, Yin and Yang: Earth and Heaven, winter and summer, night and day, cold and hot, wet and dry, inner and outer, body and mind. Harmony of this union means health, and good fortune, while disharmony leads to disease, energy imbalance, and weak immune system. The strategy of Chinese medicine is to restore harmony and allows the free flow of energy, blood and nourishment through all tissues and organs. The treatment always aims to bring the body into balance through promoting the production of natural healing substances to relieve pain, regulate nerve transmission, enhance the immune system, regulate hormone and blood flow and release natural anti-inflammatory substances.
Our doctors will diagnose and analyze the basic patterns of patients’ functional entities by measuring the pulse, inspecting the tongue, skin, eyes and be considering the eating and sleeping habits among other things.
KindCare Medical Center offers various forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments including:
Acupuncture/laser acupuncture: Acupuncture uses fine needles to stimulate the body’s acupoints to treat specific areas of the patient’s body. Acupuncture focuses on improving organ function, alleviating pain and is extremely beneficial for surgery recovery, decreased immunity, chronic pain, cardiovascular problems, gastrointestinal disorders, stress, ageing, muscle conditions and infertility. KindCare Medical also offers painless laser Acupuncture as an alternative for patients who are in extreme pain and for children and babies.
Acupressure: Acupressure has the same principles as acupuncture but uses the thumbs as opposed to needles to relieve stress, tension and to promote healing and increase blood flow.
Chinese Decoction: Herbal remedy solutions are available to suit each and every patient’s needs. Through an individual history and assessment, our doctors will carefully prescribe and prepare a personal herbal decoction to help treat disease, prevent health conditions and to detoxify the body.
Moxibustion: is a process that uses heat therapy applied to various acupoints to enhance energy and promote healing.
Tui Na Massage: Tui Na Massage is a deep tissue massage to promote relaxation and to increase energy levels. This specialized massage technique helps with musculoskeletal disorders, relieves muscle tension and helps with pain management.
Cupping Therapy: This therapy uses special cups to create a vacuum pressure in specific areas of the body. The procedure is usually performed on the patient’s back to promote healing, helps release toxins and to trigger the lymphatic system.
Ear Point Treatment: this treatment is a type of acupuncture only it doesn’t use needles. Small herbal seeds are taped onto the specific points of the body which the patient has to massage regularly. Ear Point Treatment can help with sleeping problems, pain management, to reduce weight and to quit smoking.
